To revise a popular saying – when in Bulgaria, do as the Bulgarians do; you might be surprised as just how fascinating it is to see the country through the eyes of its fiercely proud citizens.

When in Bulgaria, take the time to enjoy the surroundings even more by mingling with the locals, who will most likely be able to give colorful tales to go with the most interesting tourist attractions.

Bulgarians are generally friendly people, so don’t be afraid to strike a conversation whenever the opportunity presents itself – you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how genuinely eager the locals are to give you fun facts and information! It’s also a good idea to learn even a few Bulgarian words, so you can at least start a conversation with the locals without too much of a challenge.
